Leamington SC United Grassroots Academy was built in order to shift focus to developing the player's individual skills and their technical abilities in order to instill confidence and knowledge of the game that will translate to a life long involvement.
Leamington SC United Soccer Club believes in providing a “Positive Soccer Experience" to all players. SC United players all deserve the opportunity to develop their abilities to their full potential. With this in mind, Leamington SC United is proud to announce our Grassroots Academy Program (GAP).
Skill development is the primary goal for all youth players, particularly between the ages of 8 and 12, as developed by Canada Soccer the CSA’s Long Term Player Development (LTPD) model will form our guidelines and cirriculum. Leamington SC United will focus its resources on skill development by creating a developmental environment for every SC United player.
Some Program Details-
SC United Grassroots Academy Program is intended to improve the skill development of players 8 to 12 years of age by offering them a consistent and more focused program through these developmental years.
This program will be an estimated 7 to 8 month program annually. (October to August non-concurrent) and is open to all players between the ages of 7 - 12.
The program’s coaches and developers will consist of our Club Head Coaches, who will oversee all aspects of the individual player’s development including Coaching games, planning and running all training sessions, develop a nutritional guide specific for soccer players and have extra curricular activities available to all registered players within the program.
Each player will be rostered to their specific age group, based on the year they were born. There will be no notion of “cutting players”, this is an open roster that players will be selected from to fill the game day roster.
There will be a minimum of 3 soccer days per week per age group. (1 Gameday, 2 Training Sessions) during the regular season months.
